Doctorate in Business Administration

The Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration program at Southern Illinois University Carbondale attracts students from around the world. The program prepares highly qualified individuals for teaching and research positions in academic institutions, as well as, for research positions in business and government.

The College of Business at SIUC is fully accredited by AACSB International. The college also offers on-campus MBA and MAcc programs, as well as, an online MBA program.

The doctoral program of study trains students in a primary functional area of business administration. These include accounting, finance, management, and marketing. This preparation leads to the development of the doctoral dissertation, which demonstrates the student’s ability to undertake independent and creative research in the field of business and administration. The program entails at least three years of study beyond the master’s degree.

Business Administration major areas of study accept students for admission each Fall semester only, however, the department of interest may or may not be taking students in a particular Fall semester. Check with the Coordinator of the major area of study that you are interested in to determine if applications will be accepted for a particular Fall semester.

The Business Administration major areas of study for Accounting, Finance, Management and Marketing are accepting applications for the Fall 2012. The application deadline is February 15th, all materials must be received by this date. Decisions will not be announced until after April 15th.
