4th Annual 'Meet the Dean' event to be held October 14
October 28, 2009,
College of Business students and Registered Student Organizations will have an excellent opportunity in the coming week. Matthew Simpson and Blacks interested in Business (BIB) are proud to announce the 4th annual “Meet the Dean” event for the College of Business. The event will be held on Wednesday, October 14 and will begin at 5:00 p.m. in the Student Center Ballroom.
At the event, College of Business Dean J Dennis Cradit will be present to meet with students. Dean Cradit is looking forward to the occasion, “This event allows me to get to know more students, to hear their ideas and concerns, and it gives them a chance to network with their peers as well.”
This type of administration and student interaction is something the College of Business prides itself upon. The first example of such an opportunity was the “Welcome Event” held at the beginning of the semester. According to Simpson, the chance to meet the Dean isn’t something students should pass by, “This event is a great opportunity to get students exposed to the coolest Dean on campus.” But, that’s not the only reason Simpson feels students and organizations should attend the event, adding, “The event is really a great networking opportunity as well.”
Adding to the attraction of the event, there will be free food and drinks available for those who wish to attend. Simpson and the Blacks interested in Business, a Registered Student Organization for the College, have worked hard to provide students with such a unique opportunity.
Dean Cradit knows it is important for students to have access to all College of Business faculty members, saying, “[Matt Simpson] really did a great job in making this event possible. I think it’s important for students to understand they can approach College of Business faculty members without hesitation. We are here to help students in any way we can.”
