College of Business inducts six into Hall of Fame

The College of Business recently inducted six distinguished alumni into their prestigious Hall of Fame.The accomplished inductees are: Richard J. Bakosh, Frederick C. Chiu, Micheal E. Derylo III, Stephen D. Goepfert, Martine P. Jackson, and Tahsin Firuz Soyuer.
New Hall of Fame inductees are selected based on professional and personal successes, contributions to the business world, and outstanding work within their communities.
“It is an honor to recognize these individuals. Each of these outstanding alumns have worked hard to excel in each of their respective fields. They are astute, accomplished people, who not only give back to their communities, but represent inspiring role models for us all.” said Dean J. Dennis Cradit, in reference to the six inductees.
Profiles of the new inductees:
Richard J. Bakosh received a BS in marketing from SIUC in 1982. Bakosh is a Managing Partner of Sales Transformation and Strategy for Accenture, a global management consulting, technology services, and outsourcing company. Prior to joining Accenture in March 2006 he had over 20 years of sales leadership, marketing, operations and strategic planning experience. This included serving as Senior Vice-President, Sales and Marketing, for WW Grainger and leading the sales and marketing functions at Corvis, Tellabs, Ameritech, and GE Medical.
Frederick C. Chiu received a BS in accounting in 1972. Chiu is the Executive Vice President with MW Polar, a processed food importing company established by the Chiu family in 1976. The Polar brand is carried by major retail outlets such as WalMart, Sam’s Club, and Super Target stores.
Micheal E. Derylo III received a BS in management in 1968. Derylo is a successful real estate investor including properties in Nevada and California. He also owns and rents out several properties in California and Nevada. Derylo is also involved in an electronic equipment company, Inter Lynk.
Stephen D. Goepfert received a BS in accounting in 1975. Goepfert is Staff Vice President of Internal Audit, Chief Auditor for Continental Airlines Inc. in Houston, Texas since 1989. Goepfert oversees execution of the daily responsibilities of the internal audit team to ensure the accomplishment of overall organizational objectives.
Martine P. Jackson received her MBA in Business Administration in 1997. She is the managing partner of Rhode & Jackson, Attorneys at Law located in Carbondale, IL. Jackson provides counsel and litigation services to both public and private institutions and businesses. Further, she counsels businesses on issues pertinent to all phases of the employment relationship, from hiring to firing.
Tahsin Firuz Soyuer received his MBA in finance in 1988. Soyuer is the Managing Partner and co-founder of DTZ Pamir & Soyuer, a real estate advisory company established in 1993 in Istanbul, Turkey, which is affiliated with DTZ Debenham Tie Leung, a leading global real estate advisory firm operation. Among its major clients are Exxon Mobil, BP, and Citibank. Before starting his real estate advisory company, Soyuer served as Vice President at Colliers International, Istanbul from 1991-93 and as an Associate at Turk Merchant Bank, an affiliate of Bankers Trust Co, from 1990-91.
