Katie Oberholz, a junior studying management recently landed the summer internship of her dreams. Oberholz will work for Country Music Television (CMT) this summer in Nashville, Tennessee.

Oberholz has always had an interest in working in the country music industry. She obtained the position by checking the CMT website for job opportunities. To her surprise; they had a number of internships available. She applied, and was hired within a few weeks. “My overall reaction was ecstatic! I thought that this would be a one in a million kind of gig because of the number of people who applied. I am very blessed that I was given this opportunity,” stated Oberholz.

At CMT, she will be working in the music strategy department and will be exposed to their marketing and promotion team. She will also be working with their social networking, television broadcasts, sweepstakes and contests, as well as all of their live summer events.

When asked about the best advice she has to offer a future College of Business student her response was to get involved with an organization. “At the beginning of this year, I chose to join the American Marketing Association (AMA). Hands down, it was one of the best decisions I have made. With the help of AMA, I have learned valuable lessons that I will hold onto for the rest of my life. I would also have to tell future College of Business students to stay focused and keep shooting for their dreams. You never know what may come down your path.” Congratulations, Katie.
