COB students and faculty study abroad in France
August 30, 2010,
Nineteen undergraduate students, one graduate student, and three College of Business faculty members experienced an exciting summer studying abroad in Grenoble, France. The group spent three weeks, starting on May 21 and ending June 11, at the Grenoble Graduate School of Business’s International Summer School Program.
Undergraduates took courses in French, International Strategy & Geopolitics, and International Marketing, partially taught by SIUC’s own Dr. Suzanne Nasco. The graduate student was enrolled in a separate program, learning about Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship.
When not studying, students were able to make the most of their study abroad experience by visiting Paris and Annecy, taking cooking classes, touring historic sites, and concluding their experience with a dinner in the Sassenage Castle.
David Rhoads, a junior majoring in finance and math, described it as a learning experience, saying , “I had never travelled outside of the country before I participated in Dr. Nasco's program. Going abroad with SIU students helped me to understand part of the political climate of France in particular and Europe as a whole.”
