Dueker named 2011 Outstanding Senior
April 07, 2011,
College of Business student, Lisa A. Dueker was named the 2011 Outstanding Senior in the College of Business as well as in the Department of Marketing. During her years at SIU, she maintained a 4.0 cumulative GPA and double majored in marketing and management.
Lisa’s path is slightly different than that of most students. After high school, the Carbondale native joined the United States Army’s 10th Mountain Division as a medic. She was deployed to Mahmudiyah, Iraq, and served for five years as one of only 10 medics at a field aid station, helping wounded soldiers and civilians.
Lisa returned to Carbondale and enrolled at SIUC to pursue a degree in marketing. In 2010, she participated in the College of Business study abroad program in Grenoble, France. She has been an active member of the Marketing Department’s Leadership Board, and will graduate in December of this year.
“Lisa Dueker exemplifies everything we love to see in a young person--brilliant, engaging, poised, and capable. Her performance has been outstanding in every way. We are so very proud to say she is one of ours,” said Terry Clark, Chair of the Department of Marketing.
