Students, faculty, and staff recognized at 2011 Honors Day Ceremony

On April 17, the hard work and success of the College of Business students, faculty, and staff were recognized at the annual Honors Day awards presentation.
161 students were recognized with scholastic honors, and 183 students were awarded over $157,000 in scholarships and tuition waivers. One student from each major was recognized as the “Outstanding Senior” in his/her respective area: Lindsey Miller in accounting, Christopher Hooks in business economics, Cristina Trapani in finance, Estrella Martinez in management, and Lisa Dueker in marketing. Ms. Dueker was also selected as the overall Outstanding Senior in the College of Business. Pictures of the students honored at the event can be seen at the College of Business Flickr page.
Several outstanding graduate students were also recognized at Honors Day. Christopher Owen was named Most Outstanding MBA Student, Thibault Spithakis as the Most Outstanding International MBA Student, Ashlee Church for the Most Outstanding Female MBA Student, Deepa Anil Pillai for the Most Outstanding Ph.D. student, and Michelle Rusin for the Most Outstanding Master of Accountancy Student.
Faculty and staff awards were also presented, including Jamie McNutt as Outstanding Researcher, Jason Greene as Outstanding Graduate Teacher, Xiaoxin Beardsley as Outstanding Undergraduate Teacher, Darla Karnes as Outstanding Term Faculty, Carla Chatham for Outstanding Service, and Sierra Makepeace as Outstanding Student Worker.
