CoB Welcome Back Event returns

To kick off the beginning of a new year, the College of Business is hosting its 5th Annual Welcome Back Event on Thursday, September 1, 2011. The event will be located outside Rehn Hall from 4:00-6:00p.m. Business major and minor students will have to opportunity to meet College of Business faculty and staff, talk with registered student organizations, win great door prizes, and enjoy free food and drinks.
Matt Purdy, Associate Director of the Placement Center, stated, “I think this is a great event to help bring together students and Business faculty/staff before the semester gets really hectic. It’s also an excellent and easy way for students to see what opportunities they have to get involved throughout the College in a low pressure, fun environment.”
This event will also be a great chance for students looking to become more involved in extracurricular activities. Multiple Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) will be on hand and will be looking increase their memberships. The organizations expected to be in attendance are: The Accounting Society, Alpha Kappa Psi, American Marketing Association, Beta Alpha Psi, Beta Gamma Sigma, Blacks Interested in Business, COB Student Council, Financial Management Association International, Graduate Business Association, National Association of Black Accountants, Pi Sigma Lambda, and the SalukiCEO Corps.
The Welcome Event will be catered by Great Boars of Fire and will feature the local DJ Robbie stokes. Robbie is the owner of RobCo audio and is extremely well known in the local music industry. Apple will also have a table at the event for students to check out the latest technologies from the company.
