Free Kaplan Practice Test for SIU Alumni Association members

February 14, 2012, Nicole Trainor

Current members of the SIU Alumni Association who wish to pursue graduate and professional degrees will have the opportunity to practice their test-taking skills with a Free Kaplan Practice Test given on SIU Carbondale’s campus, Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012.

The free Kaplan practice test will coincide with the Kaplan Test Prep National Test Day. The Association will provide members with the following tests: LSAT (law school); MCAT (medical school); GRE (graduate school); GMAT (business school); OAT (optometry school); DAT (dental school); and PCAT (pharmacy school).

Suzanne Altobello Nasco, Director of MBA Programs and Associate Professor of Marketing, comments on the benefits students gain from this practice exam, “To obtain admission to the MBA program, a student must take the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT). The GMAT costs $250 and potential MBA applicants should not take the test without preparation. The free practice test is a great benefit for members of the SIU Alumni Association.”

Location for the tests will vary according to exam.  Members will be provided with a 30-minute testing strategy session courtesy of Kaplan.  SIU staff from various professional schools will be on hand to speak to test-takers, and will be there to answer any questions in addition to Kaplan professors live via the internet.  Real-time scores will be provided once the exam is completed.

In order to reserve your place, please RSVP no later than midnight on Wednesday, February 22, 2012. To register, go to, or call the SIU Alumni Association office at 618-453-2408.
