Goodale invited to serve on editorial review board

Dr. John Goodale, Associate Professor of Operations Management in the Department of Management, has been invited to serve as a member of the Editorial Review Board for the Journal of Operations Management (JOM).
“I am very pleased to be invited to join this group that works incessantly to advance the state of empirical research in Operations Management.” States Dr. Goodale on his invitation to join the board.
JOM is the premier journal for empirical research in Operations Management. JOM is identified as a top academic business journal by several organizations that rank business schools and research output, including the Financial Times, the University of Texas at Dallas Top 100 Business School Research Rankings, and Erasmus Research Institute of Management, among others.
“This is very exciting news for Dr. Goodale, the Department of Management, the College of Business, and our students, especially our graduate students,” states Dr. Pete Mykytyn, Chair and Professor of Management.
Professor Goodale, a southern Michigan native, joined the SIU College of Business in Fall 2009. Goodale's research is focused on scheduling and quality in service operations and his recent projects have appeared in the Journal of Operations Management, Production and Operations Management, Decision Sciences, Cornell Quarterly and other journals. He currently teaches courses in Operations Management.
Goodale earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University in 1988. In 1991, he finished his MBA at the University of Utah, which is where he also earned his Ph.D. in 1996.
