Dr. Greg Hoffeditz

Management lecturer Dr. Greg Hoffeditz was recently named the 2012 Public Affairs Officer of the Year for the Illinois Wing of the Civil Air Patrol. He is currently the Public Affairs Officer (PAO) and Deputy Commander for Cadets for the Scott Composite Squadron at Scott Air Force Base.

His primary duty as the PAO is to keep the public, as well as National Headquarters, informed of his unit's activities.  This is accomplished through photojournalism and writing news releases for the local media.  Capt. Hoffeditz also mentors cadets interested in photography and writing.

In 2012, Capt. Hoffeditz won six national-level awards for photography and writing.  He is also nominated for five national awards for 2013, three for photos and two for articles. Results of those nominations will be announced in July.

Capt. Hoffeditz also served in the PAO position with the Coastal Charleston Composite Squadron in Charleston, South Carolina, the Eagle Composite Squadron at Kirtland Air Force Base in New Mexico, and the Thunderbird Composite Squadron at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas.

Congratulations to Capt. Hoffeditz on this well-deserved award.
