Frank Abagnale, Jr.
On Saturday, May 11, the College of Business commencement ceremony will take place at 1:30 p.m. in the SIU Arena. The ceremony will recognize degree recipients at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate level, and will be combined with the College of Education and Human Services.
The College will have a total of 245 graduates. The undergraduate degree recipients include 36 accounting majors, 8 business and administration majors, 4 business economics majors, 29 finance majors, 55 management majors, and 45 marketing majors. A total of 68 graduate students will be receiving diplomas as well.
Frank Abagnale, Jr. will be delivering the keynote address. Abagnale is a security and fraud expert whose life was dramatized in the 2002 movie Catch Me If You Can. In his younger years, he made a living by being an impostor, posing as an airline pilot, lawyer, doctor, and teacher. His primary crime was check fraud, and he became so skillful that the FBI eventually used him to aid in catching other check forgers. He is a perfect example of the power of perseverance.
The College of Business congratulates all of our May graduates!
