Brittany Greathouse, a senior Finance major from Bolingbrook, IL, was crowned SIU’s Homecoming Queen during halftime of the Homecoming football game on Saturday, October 19.

Greathouse was one of five queen candidates. She is very active in the SIU community, as she is President of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, a member of Alpha Lambda Delta honor society, a member of Delta Epsilon Iota honor society, and was the former Undergraduate Student Government President. Jesse Cler, a senior majoring in Agribusiness Economics and Plant and Soil Science, was crowned king.

When asked what being Homecoming Queen means to her, Greathouse said, “Being queen means I can represent campus when I meet alumni and set an example of what a Saluki is like outside of the state. I would like to leave a legacy and make a mark on campus, and being Homecoming Queen is one of the ways I can.”

“Unleash the Legend, Homecoming 2013” was the theme for this year’s celebration.

The College congratulates Greathouse on this outstanding honor!
