Claire Liang joined the Department of Finance in 2014. Before coming to SIU Carbondale, she worked as an executive director of Investment Banking at Goldman Sachs in Taiwan and as a vice president/associate of Investment Banking at Citigroup/Salomon Smith Barney in New York.
Liang enjoys working in the College of Business because of the “down-to-earth dynamic of the department, and how passionate everyone is about research.” She teaches Management of Business Finance (FIN 361) and continues work on academic articles.
Liang earned a bachelor of science in physics from National Tsing Hua University in Taiwan, a PhD in materials science and engineering and an MBA from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, and a doctoral degree in finance from the University of Alberta, Canada.
