College of Business Scholarships

Our College supports our students' through every step of their educational pursuit.  Therefore, we never want financial resources to get in the way of earning their degree.  In addition to the SIUC Financial Aid Office the College of Business also offers many need and merit based scholarships, most of which are offered on an annual basis.  Please see the list of awards below.

Application period is November 2011 through January 2012.

​Accounting Circle Scholarship ​Accounting Majors.  Applicants must be students entering the University. Required qualifying score (high school graduating percentile x composite ACT score) of 19.20 or above. For example, a student in the 80th graduating percentile with an ACT of 25 would have a qualifying score of 20. Applicants must be willing to attend an interview with the Accounting Circle Liaison Officer of the Accounting Circle. ​$1,000

**Kimiko Ajioka Memorial Scholarship Marketing Majors. Awarded during senior year, and may be applied for during junior year.

Donald T. Anderson Memorial Scholarship Accounting Majors.  Completed a minimum of four accounting classes. Minimum accounting GPA: 3.0.  Minimum business GPA: 2.8.  Demonstrates leadership and interpersonal skills through extracurricular activities.

Carrie D. Baines Scholarship Minimum of 2.5 GPA. A Business Major and at least 14 credit hours per semester.

Carrie M. Bunn Scholarship Fund Junior, Senior or Graduate. Business Major with Minimum 3.0 GPA.

James B. & Rosemary Samuel Childress Scholarship Declared Business major.  Graduated from a high school in Jackson or Williamson County.  Transfer students are eligible if high school and community college are in Jackson or Williamson County.  Must demonstrate financial need by working to help pay college expenses.

Covington Entrepreneurial Awards College of Business senior with a GPA of 2.75 or above.  Actively involved in registered student organizations and must have letter of recommendation from faculty advisor.

Richard K. Holt Memorial Fund Scholarship Accounting majors applying for a master’s program at SIUC.  Resident of Southern Illinois Maintaining a GPA of 3.5.  Financial need will be considered.

**Kenneth J. Hull and Jacqueline M. Hull Illinois CPA Society Accounting Scholarship 1) student must be a resident of Illinois; 2) student must be enrolled, as a full-time student in the COBA at SIUC with a declared major of accounting; 3) the student must have and maintain a 3.0 GPA or if an entering student, has a qualifying ACT score of 25 or above or similar qualifications; 4) must not be a participant in any full-tuition and fees reimbursement program or have previously received any full tuition scholarships under other scholarship programs for the same academic year covered by this scholarship; 5) should show a strong desire to become a CPA by submitting a short essay of 250-300 words or less indicating such.

Bill and Barbara Beck Accounting Scholarship Preference will be given in the following order: 1) Jefferson County high school graduates or community college transfer students who are admitted to the SIUC School of Accountancy; 2) Southern Illinois (Springfield, IL and south) high school graduates or community college transfer students who are admitted to the SIUC School of Accountancy; 3) a recipient may be considered for the award in subsequent years as long as he/she maintains a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 for all college work.

Gola Waters Accounting Scholarship Accounting senior with a 3.25 cumulative GPA.  Completed FIN 280.  Completed or enrolled in FIN 380.  Preference given to students who plan to sit for the CPA exam and/or plan to go to law school.
