Online MBA Program ranked among “Best Online Graduate Business Programs”
January 16, 2014,
The SIU College of Business online MBA program led by Dr. Suzanne Altobello, Director, and Jenni Janssen, Executive and External Education Coordinator, was recently ranked among the “Best Online Graduate Business Programs” by U.S. News and World Report. The program was ranked at No. 51. This is the first time the program has been ranked since its inception in summer 2009.
According to U.S. News and World Report, “These programs are the best online master's in business degree programs, based on factors such as level of accreditation, reputation for excellence among peer institutions and academic and career support services offered to students.”
“It is always great to see confirmation that we are on the right track in designing and delivering a non-traditional program format. Earning a rank that is higher than some elite programs this early in our development is a validation of our efforts,” said Dennis Cradit, dean of the College of Business.
The 23-month program is based on a cohort system, with new students beginning each summer. Applications for the summer 2014 cohort opened January 15. The deadline for early admission is March 1.
The College’s online MBA program will debut three new concentrations this summer. One is a partnership with the College of Agricultural Sciences in which students will earn their MBA with a concentration in agricultural economics. The second is an MBA degree with a specialization in Health Operations Management. Lastly, the program will offer a specialization in Supply Chain Management. All three programs will be taught completely online, to keep from interrupting students and their careers.
