This week’s featured Registered Student Organization (RSO) is the Epsilon Kappa chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi.

Alpha Kappa Psi is a professional co-ed business fraternity that is recognized as the premier developer of principled business leaders. The purpose of the organization is to foster scientific research in the fields of commerce, accounting, and finance, and to further the individual welfare of its members, most of whom are earning degrees in the area of business administration.

Alpha Kappa Psi Fraternity Inc. was founded October 5, 1904 at New York University and incorporated May 20, 1905. SIU’s chapter, Epsilon Kappa, was chartered on April 18, 1959. The guiding principles of the fraternity are achieving high ethical standards, building brotherhood, enhancing the fraternity for life, lifelong learning, and improving communities.

Students majoring or minoring in business, as well as any students interested in business and developing professional skills, are eligible to pledge. Meetings are held every Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. in Rehn 12.

Each year, Alpha Kappa Psi hosts numerous events for their student and alumni members. All programs are value-based and are designed to help members develop their professional, personal, fraternal and leadership skills.
