‘Marketing U’ to be held February 27
January 30, 2014,
The Department of Marketing will be hosting their second annual ‘Marketing U’ Career Success Seminar on Thursday, February 27 at the Student Center. The event is hosted by the Department of Marketing External Advisory Board as a way for alumni to interact with students face-to-face, share real-world career advice to contribute to their success following graduation, and to offer themselves as potential professional mentors to students who want to seek those networking opportunities.
This year, the program will consist of eight different presentations and presenters, four will focus on getting the first professional job out of college while the other four will focus on keeping and succeeding at the job and beyond. The sessions will be repeated multiple times throughout the afternoon so that students can choose the sessions that interest them the most and fit around their class schedules. The sessions will occur in three different time slots: 12:30-1:45, 2:00-3:15, and 3:30-5:45. There will also be a Networking Mixer beginning at 4:45, where students will have the opportunity to interact with the alumni presenters.
The event is open to all undergraduate and graduate business majors or minors, and it is free to attend. Students should dress in business attire and bring resumes. Registration is required, and will open in early February. Students will be able to register through Experience or by visiting the Department of Marketing and filling out a registration form.
