Trevor Ward, son of Bev and Steve Ward of Albion, IL was recently awarded the distinction of SIU Outstanding MBA Student.  He accepted the award at the Honors Day ceremony on April 5, 2014.

“I was shocked and honored to receive the Outstanding MBA Student award.  Working in the Graduate Office has allowed me to get to know many of my fellow students and they are all impressive.  With that caliber of competition in the category I am humbled to have been chosen,” says Ward.

Ward received his undergraduate degree in marketing from SIU in December of 2012 and has continued at SIU to pursue his MBA. When asked why he chose to attend SIU Carbondale, he said “the decision was easily made when I was offered the Chancellor Scholarship.”  The Chancellor Scholarship covered his in-state tuition and mandatory fees for four years.  He also states that he remained at SIU for his graduate studies due to the “support I have received from the faculty and staff at the College of Business.”  During his time at SIU, Ward has been active in the Business Saluki CEO Corps, the Intervarsity Christian Fellowship, and has worked as both a student worker and a graduate assistant in the Graduate Office of the College of Business.  This is just Ward’s most recent recognition from the College of Business as he also received the Outstanding Marketing Student Award as a senior and has earned a spot on the Dean’s list every semester at SIU with a perfect 4.0 GPA.
