Bridgette Sargent began working at SIU in 2001 in Transfer Student Services while earning her bachelor’s degree in accounting in 2008 and her master’s degree in accounting in 2010. After taking some time to work in public accounting, she return to SIU in 2013 as an academic advisor in the College of Business, where she is now the assistant dean of Student Services. Sargent is a long-time Saluki and it is embodied in her work here at the College of Business.
Sargent administers, develops and leads all student service activities including admissions, academic advising, career services, communication and marketing, diversity and inclusion, recruitment, retention, scholarships and tutoring. She promotes and supports innovation in all areas to advance service to our students, faculty and staff as well as oversees spending of differential tuition revenue exclusively for enhancing student services.
Sargent genuinely enjoys helping students and stays active amongst various areas of SIU. She is a member in several committees on campus, including the Executive Committee, Undergraduate Programs Committee, Differential Tuition Committee, Academic Calendar Committee and the Scholarship Coordinating Committee.
She is truly dedicated to our students’ success and experience at SIU and appreciates that the College of Business possesses a family atmosphere combined with teamwork qualities.
