David Hartley graduated from SIU College of Business in 1991 and is currently a principal and virtual CIO with UHY LLP in St. Louis, MO. His dedication to advancing his field with innovative techniques has won him the 2018 Outstanding Visionary Award. Hartley credits the SIU CoB for providing him with a solid foundation that enabled him to build a career.
The College of Business hosted a Business Night at a recent SIU men’s basketball game, giving more than 400 local high school and community college students the opportunity to see that business provides a promising future. The Salukis took on St. Louis University on Dec. 5 in an exciting game and the group of enthused future business students helped cheer on the Salukis to victory.
The College of Business has announced the recipients of the 2019 Emerging Saluki Leader (ESLA) Award. The award is going to six recent alumni, Caroline Ebelhar Ellis, Molly Guinnip Wedding, Jennifer Polk, Nicki Milovanovic, Meredith Rhoads and Lily Sugathan, who demonstrate post-graduation success through achievement in business, academia, government, not-for-profit organizations or community service. The awardees’ hard work and accomplishments will be honored at a May banquet.
The 2018 Etiquette Dinner was a delightful experience filled with smiles and handshakes for more than 200 sponsors, board members, students, faculty and staff. Serving as a practice-run for professional dining, the Etiquette Dinner is an annual event to help new Salukis gain yet another skill for professional success.
Numerous SIU College of Business graduates have joined the Wintrust Financial Corporation team, now enjoying careers with a company recognized well within the world of business. With nearly 4,000 employees, Wintrust currently employs over 10 SIU CoB graduates. Some have shared "where they are now" snapshots with the college.
