Our Mission
The Business Placement Center supports the College of Business and Analytics' mission by empowering students to achieve their professional goals through comprehensive career services, resources, and connections. We are dedicated to facilitating successful career transitions through personalized guidance and strong employer partnerships. We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where students can explore their career aspirations, develop essential skills, and build meaningful networks to thrive beyond the classroom.
Meet the Team
The BPC team is committed to helping every student achieve success.
Kenea Lee
Kenea Lee is the Program Director of the Business Placement Center (BPC) at the College of Business and Analytics (CoBA). She has more than a decade of experience in higher education and workforce development. She is passionate about helping students turn their academic experiences into professional opportunities.
Kenea holds a Master of Public Administration in Nonprofit Management and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management (Entrepreneurship) from Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIU). Her background in student success, program management, and community engagement uniquely positions her to guide CoBA students as they prepare for their next steps.
At the BPC, Kenea works closely with students to:
- Connect with internships, job placements, and networking opportunities that align with their career goals.
- Build professional skills through workshops, coaching, and hands-on experiences.
- Navigate career transitions with resources that foster both confidence and readiness.
Kenea’s philosophy is simple: Every student has the potential to succeed when given the right tools, connections, and encouragement. Whether you are looking for your first internship, preparing for graduate school, or planning your career path, Kenea and the BPC team are here to support you.
Kenea is co-owner of Skented Enchantments, a candle business she runs with her daughter. She is also a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., where she continues her commitment to service and leadership.

Tara Tanner

Tara Tanner is a senior Marketing major from Johnston City, Illinois. As a student worker in the Business Placement Center, she supports the office by managing calls, responding to emails, and assisting students with a variety of needs. From helping students select professional attire in the career closet to creating a welcoming environment, Tara strives to make the Business Placement Center a helpful and supportive space for all who visit. She plans to graduate in May 2026 and pursue a career in the fast-paced and ever-evolving field of marketing. Outside of academics and work, Tara enjoys reading and spending time with her family and friends.
Ethan Bahney
Ethan Bahney is a senior majoring in Finance with minors in Accounting and HTEM from Central Illinois. As a student employee, Ethan assists with getting students to look their best at the Career Closet for an interview, career fair, or any other professional event. He hopes to pursue a career in financial analysis after graduation. In his free time, Ethan enjoys reading and finding new music.
