What do I need in order to graduate?
Students need 120 credit hours minimum, which includes: 39 University Core Curriculum hours, 47 Business Core Curriculum hours, and between 21-30 credit hours for your Major courses.
What is University Core Curriculum (UCC) and how can I satisfy UCC requirements?
UCC is the part of a student’s degree designed to provide a breadth of understanding beyond one’s major. Your Degree Works account will allow you to view the courses that fall under each of these categories located in the UCC.
Do I have to see an advisor in order to register?
Yes, it is preferred that all students meet with their advisor to ensure they are remaining on track with their studies.
Do I have to get a ‘C’ or better in ________ class?
It depends. What is your major? What is your SIU GPA, BUS GPA, Major GPA? Make sure to check with your advisor.
What is a BUS GPA?
The BUS GPA and/or major GPA are expressed as + or - points. This is a common system used to indicate the number of positive (+) or negative (-) grade points above or below a “C” grade average.
Where can I check my personal information?
You can check or update your personal information in your SalukiNet account under the ‘Update Your Contact Information’ icon.
Can I just use my current email address?
No, all College of Business and Analytics students are required to use their SIU email address. The email address is considered to be the official means of communication with students and will be generated for students following their enrollment in classes.
Is it really important to get involved in organizations?
Business student organizations are an important part of the College and provide valuable interaction, knowledge, and experience for those who participate. Networking has proven year after year to be one of the best sources of job opportunities upon graduation.
When can I register for next semester?
Week eleven and later. It is important to meet with your advisor prior to this time to ensure the courses you have selected align with your degree progress.
